¡¡¡¡ BEIJING, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- In recent years, the cooperation between China and Niger in infrastructure, telecommunications, human resources and other fields has made remarkable progress, said Chinese President Hu Jintao here Monday when meeting with Nigerien President Mamadou Tandja.
Tandja arrived here for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Forty eight African countries that have diplomatic relations with China participated in the two-day summit held on Nov. 4-5.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the resumption of China-Niger diplomatic ties, and the good political relations have provided forceful support for bilateral practical cooperation, Hu said.
Both China and Niger are developing countries, and China is willing to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, Hu said.
Niger attaches great importance to friendship with China, appreciating China's long-time assistance, said Tandja, expressing wish to enhance cooperation with China in agriculture, power and infrastructure.
