Bush hails Saddam Hussein's death sentence

WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George W. Bush hailed Sunday's verdict of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein as "a milestone" for Iraq.

"The trial is a milestone in the Iraqi people's efforts to replace the rule of a tyrant with the rule of law," Bush said in a brief statement in Waco, Texas.

Anyone heard if they plan on performing the death sentence or continue on with a dozen or so more trials? I would prefer they get it over right quick. As long as the appeals have all been exhausted. They can still hold the other trials all he's gonna do is tell the court they are illegitimate anyway, but I think his death would pound a few nails into the coffin of the insurgency perhaps. Well wishful thinking at least. Anybody heard?
