Chinanews, Beijing, Oct. 10 ¨C According to Beijing Daily, Fan Luxian, maker of the China Richest List published by the Forbes' Asian edition, said on October 9, "We predict that the list this year will be different from last year, with a fresh wealthy person topping the list."
This information has aroused curiosity and surmise among people of all walks of the society, as Rong Zhijian from CITIC Pacific Ltd. has topped the list twice in 2005 and 2004 respectively.
Related data show that Rong Zhijian dominated the first place in 2005 with 1.6 billion US dollars worth of wealth, but he dropped behind soon after.
In the Forbes' Global Richest List released in March 2006, Shi Zhengrong, founder of the Shangde Solar Energy in Wuxi, led the Chinese rich entrepreneurs with 2.2 billion US dollars worth of assets.
Moreover, in June of this year, Forbes' Asian edition made a new evaluation revealing that the assets of Huang Guangyu, president of Gome Group, have also reached 2.1 billion US dollars.
These new billionaires are very likely to take the place of Rong Zhijian in 2006 to become the richest person in China.
One of the most important annual Forbes lists, China Richest List, will be unveiled on November 2. Like in last year, 400 Chinese wealthy persons will be covered in the list.
